Shay Pool and Emily Phillips hosted a Scottish Music Workshop at the Ozark Folk Center on Friday and Saturday, January 9 & 10, 2015. The workshop included large group classes and small group break-out sessions. Instrument instruction included fiddle, mandolin and bodhran.
Scottish music is a foundation for what we now know today as traditional Ozark music. The sounds of Scotland were some of the first musical traditions in the Ozarks.
Both Shay and Emily attended a week long master class in Scotland in 2014 and shared what they had learned in this workshop.
